​​​​The Local CDL Driver/ Material handler position involves the safe and efficient transportation of ingredients between facilities.  The Driver ensures compliance with safety requirements, sanitary transportation standards, vehicle inspections requirements, and maintains accurate delivery records. Depending on workload, additional warehouse duties may be assigned.​​​ 

• ​​Operate a commercial truck to transport products or materials, ensuring it reaches the destination within the specified time frame
• ​Plan and follow the most efficient routes, considering road conditions, weather, and other factors to minimize delays and optimize fuel consumption
• ​Maintain accurate logs of hours worked, cargo, and deliveries
• ​Ensure compliance with all legal regulations, including safety, weight limits, and hours-of-service regulations (use of ELD is required)
• ​Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the truck is in good working condition including checking tires, brakes, lights, and other essential systems
• ​Unload goods, using appropriate equipment when necessary, ensuring proper loading techniques
• ​Adhere to all safety procedures and protocols, including the use of seat belts, safety equipment, and defensive driving practices
• ​Report any accidents or unsafe driving conditions immediately
• ​Communicate with customers as needed to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction with deliveries.
• ​Stay in regular communication with dispatchers to provide status updates and report any delays or issues
• ​​​Supply the plant with packaging and new raw materials, remove finished goods, and place them in warehouse stock when needed
• ​Perform inventory cycle counts and assist with receiving inbound shipments as needed
• ​Perform other duties as needed

• ​​​Maintain clean and safe driving records per DOT regulations for CDL driver  
• ​​​Maintain physical health requirements CDL license    
• ​​​Must be able to comfortably sit for long periods of driving, up to 11 hrs. per day  
• ​​​Must be able to grasp, lift, carry, and stack 75-pounds  
• ​​Push or pull up to 100 lbs. at times during the shift 
• ​​​​Must have full use of arms and legs to climb stairs and ladders to access all areas of truck, plant, and offices  
• ​​Safe operation of forklift truck in congested areas  
• ​​​Must be able to perform all aspects of CDL driver responsibilities as required by DOT regulations  
• ​​Must be able to professionally interact with various department, customers, and carriers 

• Must hold a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)   
• A clean and safe driving record is required  
• Previous experience as a truck driver or commercial driver is preferred  
• ​Must possess (or be able to develop) a high degree of forklift operation skills
