Overview

​​​The Sanitation Compliance Lead will be responsible for ensuring all sanitation practices within the Joy Baking Group are compliant with regulatory standards and company policies. This role involves implementing sanitation protocols, conducting regular inspections, training and collaborating with various departments to maintain and improve sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

  • ​​Ongoing safety inspection of equipment/personnel or surroundings to assure a safe work environment
  • ​Sets up, operates, adjusts equipment or machinery for operation and regularly checks for maintenance
  • ​Ensure compliance with the MSS and Sanitation Manual, SSOPs, Pest Control Standard, sanitation design standard, and janitorial work.
  • ​Ensure non-compliance are addressed, registered, and closed with corrective and preventive actions
  • ​Provide direction to and work along with sanitation staff
  • ​Responsible for maintaining all Sanitation records and submitting to management
  • ​Ensure that necessary tools, supplies, and equipment are available to perform sanitation tasks effectively
  • ​Lead training of new sanitation team members on shift
  • ​Deliver training, retraining, and coaching in real time to Sanitation and Janitorial Associates to correctly perform their job as necessary, including safety policies
  • ​Participate and support cleaning verification and validation programs to prove effectiveness of the sanitation program.
  • ​Support allergen cleaning and control measures within the facility
  • ​Ensure appropriate staffing for support of line cleaning and routine cleaning by partnering with labor scheduling
  • ​Verify chemical inventory and perform chemical testing
  • ​Maintain working knowledge of chemical inventory levels, escalating to management when needed
  • ​Writing, revising, and maintaining SSOPs and verifying that SSOPs are being followed
  • ​Direct and assign cleaning of equipment and work areas
  • ​Adhere to process, product, sanitary, and food safety guidelines established by Joy Baking Group
  • ​Provide reports to supervisor or manager when issues arise
  • ​Support the efforts of the company to maintain a food safety system (SQF)
  • ​Follow all company policies and procedures including but not limited to related to safe chemical handling and lock out tag out (LOTO)
  • ​Other duties assigned by supervisor

Essential Functions

  • ​​Able to read, understand, and strictly follow written procedures for multiple controlled processes  
  • ​Able to make and record measurements with a high degree of accuracy and repeatability  
  • ​Strong organizational skills and ability to analyze and interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions 
  • ​Accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills a must 
  • ​Able to organize and coordinate multiple tasks and work under time constraints to meet deadlines  
  • ​​​Good understanding of and strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Policies (GMP)  
  • ​​​Must be organized and maintain work area to a high level of cleanliness  
  • ​​​Able to identify areas that need attention and either address or report as necessary   
  • ​​​Must be able to speak, listen, and effectively communicate with team members 
  • ​Effectively manage and develop Sanitation staff  
  • ​​​Follow direction and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision  
  • ​​​Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences  
  • ​​​​​Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers   
  • ​​The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading 
  • ​​​Must be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds, climb, reach, and regularly use stairs  

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ​Working knowledge of the following computer software: Microsoft Office, including Excel 
  • ​Proven good work record and attendance
