​​​​Joy Baking Group is undertaking a network infrastructure refresh project across its manufacturing facilities. We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on contract IT Field Technician to support structured cabling and IDF/MDF build-outs. The role involves close coordination with low-voltage cabling vendors and IT network teams to ensure the physical infrastructure is deployed to standard, documented properly, and meets operational needs in a manufacturing environment.​​​

• ​​Work alongside network and cabling vendors to support the physical build-out of MDFs and IDFs across multiple sites
• ​Review, interpret, and validate network diagrams, floor plans, and cabling maps
• ​Oversee and assist with structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6a, fiber) installation, ensuring adherence to TIA-606 labeling and cable management standards
• ​Conduct rack-and-stack operations including patch panel mounting, switch installs, and basic device connectivity
• ​Assist in equipment staging, inventorying, and documenting configuration data
• ​Perform site walkthroughs to monitor quality of work, generate punch lists, and escalate deviations
• ​Document vendor progress and capture photo evidence of installation quality and compliance
• ​Coordinate with IT team on network hardware deployment (switches, firewalls, patch panels, UPS units)
• ​Ensure site work is clean, professional, and meets airflow and power layout best practices
• ​Maintain daily or weekly reporting logs on progress and milestones

• ​​​​Must be highly motivated, able to follow direction, and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision 
• ​​Ability to manage multiple projects 
• ​​Must be able to effectively analyze and present complex information 
• ​​Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing 
• ​​Must have aptitude for problem solving 
• ​​Must be able to speak, listen, and effectively collaborate and communicate with team members 
• ​​Must be able to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail 
• ​​Must have full use of arms and legs and be able to climb stairs to access all areas of the plant and offices 
• ​​Able to kneel, squat, bend, stoop, twist, and lift >20lbs. on an occasional basis 
• ​​Must be organized and maintain work area 
• ​​Ability to work under the pressure of, and meet, deadlines 
• ​​Able to travel to other Joy Baking Group sites​ 

• ​​​​​​​Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
• ​Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, MCSE) are a plus 
• ​Minimum of 3 years of experience in network and server engineering or a similar role
