The Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading and maintaining the operation of all areas on a shift to the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the overall operation of cone production
Ensure that training is done properly and coach production line employees as needed
Responsible for shift schedule to include: line assignments/rotations, employee breaks and overtime assignment.
Facilitate shift meetings
Resolve employee attendance issues provided by shift attendance resource person
Gather performance data for team evaluation for performance appraisals
Act as arbitrator for team issues
Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety
Communicate with other Team Leaders, Quality Department, and Plant Management
Ensure a clean and safe work area
Ensure safety policies and programs are being followed
Assist in production as necessary
Other duties as assigned
Essential Functions
Must be able to speak, listen, and effectively communicate with team members
Actively participate in and effectively lead team/department meetings and initiatives
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills required with the ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization
Able to analyze / interpret technical information, mathematical concepts, and form conclusions
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure
Able to gather, organize, compile, and summarize data
Operate within standard operating procedures and job safety
Follow direction and perform assigned work duties independently with minimal supervision
Frequent bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting, and lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds
Must have ability to climb stairs and access all areas of the office and plant
Must be able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours
Adherence to the company attendance policy is required, including expectations of punctuality and limited unapproved absences
Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft word in required
Experience in AS400 is required
Good work habits and attendance as defined in the Joy Baking Group’s handbook
High School Diploma or equivalent is required
Two to four years of manufacturing experience preferred
